About Library
The library is a specialized scientific library covering various fields of agricultural sciences. It aims to collect agricultural information resources through various means, including purchase, donation, exchange, and legal deposit; organize them through cataloguing, classification, and shelving; and retrieve them as quickly as possible. The library provides these resources to its users, including students and researchers, through on-site consultation and external borrowing.
Establishment: The library was established in 1996.
Location: Second upper floor of the Faculty building.
Area: Approximately 140 square meters.
Sections: The library is divided into the Postgraduate Library and the Students’ Library.
Library Vision
The Faculty of Agriculture Library at Sohag University aspires to become an outstanding library offering the latest scientific and technological publications, thereby contributing to the advancement of teaching and research at the Faculty, the University, and the surrounding community. It also seeks to establish connections with local and international libraries to facilitate access to information resources in agricultural specializations and related sciences.
Library Mission
To provide references, scientific periodicals, local and regional journals, and various knowledge resources in agricultural sciences and related disciplines. The library also aims to create a suitable learning and research environment for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as faculty members, thereby contributing to the Faculty’s mission in education, scientific research, and community service.
